ADULT SHOWMANSHIP
Adult Showmanship is for anyone 30 years old and over as of January 1, 2020. Or a Parent/Guardian of an Antelope Valley Fair Junior Livestock Exhibitor.
Adults need not own the animal. They may use Heifers from Open Heifer Show or Market Goats, Lambs and Swine on the Fair- grounds. Animals may not be brought in for this event.
A signed Release of Liability Agreement will be required before any Adult Showman may enter the ring for these Divisions. Avail- able in the Entry Office 661-948-6060 ext. 226 or 123.

Mandatory Requirement: All exhibitors 9 – 19yrs. old MUST obtain annual certification in the YQCA program. Those not certified are not eligible to participate at any California Fairs. State Rule II # 12. Certificate is due by August 1, 2020 to the Entry Office or livestock@avfair.com. YQCA information is at yqca.org

Entries Close: July 18, 2020 – 5pm
*Entry Fee: $10 per entry per class $7.00 of entry fee will be divided five ways: 1st - 30% 2nd - 25% 3rd – 20% 4th - 15% 5th - 10%
Exhibits Received: Friday August 28, 10am - 2pm and August 29, 6am - 7am
Exhibits Judged: Performance Show: Saturday August 29, 8am
Exhibits Judged: Halter Show: Sunday August 30, 9am - 2pm
Exhibits Released: WALK OUT directly following completion of show
No vehicles on the grounds after 2 p.m. Mon. - Fri. and 10 a.m. Sat. and Sunday
Special Rules:
1. Bring your ALSA membership card. ALSA show rules apply.
2. All exhibitors must pay an ALSA fee of $5.00 per animal entered. Adult Non-ALSA members must pay a $30.00 fee per farm
for showing their animals in ALSA shows. Youth Non-ALSA members must pay a $15.00 fee to show in ALSA shows. ALSA
fees are due at check-in and will be collected by ALSA/LASC member.
3. Due to limited pen space, exhibitors may be asked to provide their own pens. If there is to be a cancellation, please notify the
office at least one week prior to the show.
4. Pen sizes are 8’ x 8’, animals will be penned accordingly. Educational displays are encouraged.
5. Exhibitors must be at least eight years of age.
6. Please bring the original ILR certificates to be presented at check-in. All Llamas MUST have ILR certificates with the exception
of animals shown only in Youth, Performance or Non-Breeding classes.
7. Llamas may be shown in Youth or Adult Performance classes but not both.
8. Health Certificates are required for all out of state Llamas.
Halter Rules:
1. All Llamas shall be presented for judging with a halter and a lead rope and no additional decorations.
2. Halters shall not have tassels, pompoms or other removable decorations.
3. Nursing mothers may not be accompanied in the ring by their babies. We recommend not showing nursing mothers.
