The Antelope Valley truly deserves the name “Aerospace Valley.”
Aviation and space efforts have made history in the AV for more than 70 years. The first supersonic flight, landing of
a space shuttle, aircraft to circle the world without refueling, and privately built craft to carry a person into space all
happened in the Antelope Valley.
The L.A. County Air Show is among our favorite aerospace milestones. It fosters excitement for new aerospace
accomplishments and inspires our youth to pursue careers in science and technology to make history of their own.
I'm excited to share that L.A. County is providing $1 million in 2020 to expand job training programs in the AV for
aerospace manufacturing.
Thank you to the L.A. County Air Show organizers, the Air Force, NASA, our aerospace companies Lockheed Martin,
Northrop Grumman, Boeing, and General Atomics, and their employees for their continued partnership and
dedication to cultivate incredible careers and accomplishments here in the Aerospace Valley.
Best wishes,
