You have to free up 20% of your bandwidth, time, and energy. Three game changers will require this 20% of energy.
THE THREE MCI GAME CHANGERS:
1. Daily Progress.
Make progress every day. Move the ball forward.
2. Weekly Accountability
Meet with your MCI team weekly and report on progress.
3. Monthly Benchmarks
Create a timeline and benchmarks along the way.
4. CREATE AN MCI TEAM
Your team will make or break your MCI. Your team members don’t all have to be paid sta . However, every sta member needs to be engaged.
• Identify who on your team will champion the speci c changes you are making.
• Every sta person and/or in uencer needs to be involved.
• Decide as soon as possible when your “weekly accountability” meeting will happen. Every week ask “what progress did you make this week?”
5. MAP IT OUT!
Drafting a map for your MCI will take time and work. You need to create a document that writes out your MCI. The 11 x 17 One Page MCI Roadmap is very helpful for this.
Here are some things to write out:
• Clear and Compelling Statement: Create a short statement with clarity and vision for your congregation to rally behind.
• Exact Scope and metrics. Precisely de ne the changes you will be making.
• Realistic Benchmarks and Timeline: On your timeline, you need to identify exact dates and time of critical goals and metrics.
• Financial Plan: Take time to lay out costs and monetary needs of the MCI.
• Communication Plan: Draft a strategy for using print, digital, and social media to communicate the goals, wins, and dates of the MCI.
