A love poem
I don't believe in soulmates
I don't believe in love and dates
I do believe some twist of fate
Had led me in my path to you
I don't believe in shooting stars
Or how a kiss could heal the scars
I never had a love like ours
You touched me and I was brand new
I never liked the light of day
Hated every June and May
Hated all the year that way
My day would melt into the next
I cross out targets from my list
pick up my phone and see a text
Music playing at your cue
Symphony of a broken heart
Once was at the top of the charts
You gave a smile much like art
A swarm of butterflies flew
Not many words, not many tears
Not many cords, not many cheers
Not many days, not many years
Enough to love you like I do
