LT. ALBANY is still bent over when Frank Zabrinsky

appears, dragging his own IV stand behind. Frank kicks

his right foot so high between Albany's legs that he's lifted

off the floor and his head crashes into the wall.

But he's only dazed. Now he turns to his attackers.

LT. ALBANY SNEERS AT BUD AND FRANK: Two men in

hospital gowns.

LT. ALBANY: Pulls a .9MM from his waist.

That's when Frank swings the arm of the bed tray like a

club, slapping the gun from Lt. Albany's wrist straight out

the window with a BREAKING OF GLASS.

Lt. Albany looks after his gun in surprise, even as Frank

lifts the steel food tray support from the bed like a club.

FRANK: (levelly) I'm a Police Officer. You want me to

read you your rights? (shouts) NURSE! GET THOSE

COPS IN HERE!

Lt. Albany Jumps out the window.

OUTSIDE ST. CLEMENTS HOSPITAL - NIGHT.

LOCAL TV NEWS CREWS run towards the Main

Entrance, not noticing that less than fifty yards away, Lt.

Albany drops from the second story window, stumbles to

the ground, then recovers and runs off towards Elm

Street.

INT. BUD MULLIGAN'S ROOM - NIGHT

The two patients look at the broken windowpanes. Bud

starts to sink to his knees. Frank helps keep him steady,

leading him towards the bed.
