LT. ALBANY: Is there a trace of sarcasm here?
The Sergeant salutes the van on its way.

MACARTHUR CIRCLE - ROCKLAND AIR FORCE BASE
- NIGHT
Left over from the days when this was an Army base, the
circle driveway is dominated by a giant statue of General
Douglas MacArthur lit by spotlights, with Old Glory flying
high.
The van pulls around towards camp headquarters.
IN THE THIRD FLOOR CORNER WINDOW we see Gen.
Sorkin standing looking out across the base. He is
sighting through binoculars.
CLOSE ON: THE EYES OF GENERAL SORKIN, almost
luminous orbs, inflamed by the view.
WHAT GEN. SORKIN'S SEES THROUGH BINOCULARS:
A cement area the size of five football fields where
circular shapes ten feet in diameter are symmetrically
placed. Surrounding each saucer is a mound of earth
covered in grass, like a Mayan burial mound. This
greenery, along with their small flattish domes and little
red lights makes it festive, almost. Beneath each waits a
fully-armed kick-ass ICBM.
IN GEN. SORKIN'S OFFICE - NIGHT
It is the Base Quarters of the Ranking Officer, with wicker
furniture from the Eisenhower era, elaborate Civil War
memorabilia on the far wall, including a Confederate flag
and full dress Confederate Brigadier General Full Dress
