In the vast dark dining hall, the only lights come from the

kitchen at the end of the long stainless steel serving

counter.

Trying not to give his escort the satisfaction of seeing him

limp, Gen. Yeager crosses the room with the two M.P.'s

following. They are very nervous about their high-ranking

captive, even in the dark.

BASE KITCHEN - NIGHT

The kitchen is ablaze with overhead lights. SPECIALIST

SERGEANT KYLE MORRISON is on the other side of the

room staring into the frosted window of the mammoth

camp refrigerator door. The First M.P. enters, keeping his

rifle pointed at Gen. Yeager, allowing him to pass ahead,

the Second M.P. bringing up the rear.

Sergeant Morrison turns from the refrigerator window.

His face lights up when he recognizes the famous Gen.

Yeager from TV and documentaries.

SERGEANT MORRISON: (without thinking) Ace Yeager!

He snaps to attention and salutes smartly.

SERGEANT MORRISON: Sergeant Kyle Morrison. Very

honored to meet you, Sir.

The General looks from the earnest young Sergeant to his

captors, wryly. GEN.YEAGER: You're not one of the

ringleaders of this mutiny, are you, Sergeant?

Sergeant Morrison reddens.

FIRST M.P.: Follow me, please, Sir.
