2022 ATHENA RECIPIENT

Dorothy E. Maxwell is President and Chief
Executive Officer of the Max Weingar Group, a Lansing-based
management consulting firm focused on workforce competence and
organization development.

Mrs. Maxwell has earned distinction as the only triple awardee of the
Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, holding the 2003 Small
Business Award, the 2006 Community Service Award and the 2022
Athena Leadership Award.

Hers is a well-established history in public service and community
volunteerism in the Greater Lansing Community. Currently, she serves
on the Board of Directors for Sparrow Community Care, the Greater
Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau, is a member of the Local
Governing Body of ATHENA PowerLink, is Director of Christian
Education at Trinity AME Church, is a member of the Leadership
Council-Lansing Area for United Way of South-Central Michigan, is a
Lansing Team member with AARP Michigan and is a Life Member of
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Maxwell has wide-ranging experience in organization development,
public policy, leadership, and talent development. She is respected
for her proficiency, integrity and effectiveness as a consultant and
group leader, and is acclaimed for her ability to create and engage
strategic alliances in achieving desired outcomes. Her work with
organizations often includes group facilitation, performance analysis
and strategic planning.
