MOSES: A MAN OF FAITH

We have much to learn from the life of Moses. Hebrews 11, God’s hall of faith, attributes seven verses to Moses. The first of which speaks of his parents’ faith when they hid him
For this reason dear friend, it is our desire that week by week you will not simply appreciate Moses but your own faith will increase and by so doing it will bring pleasure to our Father in heaven.
May the love of God and the power of His Holy Spirit, aligned with the grace of Jesus, bear much fruit as you continue to grow in the knowledge of Him.
because “they saw he was no ordinary child” (v23). Perhaps that is our first lesson, and what a lesson for those of us who are parents to look at our children through eyes of faith!
As we reflect on Moses’ life, we will see a man who became a great leader and a confidant of God, yet he remained humble; a man who made mistakes but learned from them; a man who refused to align himself with the power base of Pharaoh but with God’s enslaved people, the Hebrew nation.
Moses was a man of loyalty, integrity and resolution, unflinchingly determined to obey God right up until the very end of his life. Having said that Moses carried the frailty of humanity knowing he was called not simply to a task, but to a life of dependence on God. That is why Hebrews 11 prefaces his every action with the two critical words, “by faith” (vv 24-28). The Bible unequivocally teaches that “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6) and bluntly endorses “whatever is not from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23).
