Claims Process
IF CLAIM IS NOT APPROVED
• AIG notifies customer of the claim denial.
IF CLAIM IS APPROVED
• AIG will notify customer and the Utility of approval, and the date of first benefit payment
o For Accidental Death, the first month of claim payment will be for the customer’s next payment due.
o For Disability and Involuntary Loss of Employment benefits there is a 30 Day Elimination period. Thus, the first month of claim payment will be for the customer’s 2nd payment due.
• For customers whose claims have been approved, AIG will remit payment in the amount of the customer’s monthly utility bill (up to a maximum of $500) directly to the Utility.
