reading and writing tasks to demonstrate proficiency based on the criteria set by the NJDOE.
LITERACY LAB Year
Students in need of extra support with developing reading skills will be scheduled for instructional sessions during the
school day with the school’s Reading Specialist. All sessions will be held in the Literacy Lab and will be scheduled to
accommodate the best-case scenario for individual students’ schedules. Sessions will focus on targeting weaknesses
identified through state tests, department benchmark assessments, and course performance. Various reading
assessment resources will be used to provide and monitor progress towards improving readiness for college and career.
This is a non-graded course.
