ABBERLEY ADVENTURES

Boarding
It has been another busy and fun-filled half term in the Boarding House. Weekends have been popular with themed weekends celebrating Chinese New Year and HRH Queen Elizabeth II’s Accession Day. We have also enjoyed a fake New Year’s Eve Party and a Ready Player One Nerf War. It has been wonderful to welcome Day and Part-Time Boarding pupils in to take part in our weekend activities.
Wednesday Night is House Night and these evenings are always very popular. Thursday evenings are now Hot Chocolate Night across the whole Boarding House and our Junior Boarders enjoy a bedtime story in the Headmaster’s study. This is a lovely way to unwind before bed on a Thursday.
After Half Term we have three weekends for our boarders to look forward to:
Weekend 1
» 26th February: England Vs Wales
in celebration of what promises to be an exciting fixture at The Six Nations this year. We will be watching the match at school and then enjoying a few Wales Vs England themed activities.
» 27th February: Football Zorbing
we welcome Red Cactus Events to Abberley to run an afternoon
of fun Football Zorbing activities on the school astro.
Weekend 2
» 5th March: Strictly Come Dancing
a chance for children to show their choreography skills in groups
by using a few props to create a wonderful dance routine!
» 6th March: Spring Scavenger Hunt
nearing the play performance, the Chapel Choir will be involved in an afternoon rehearsal on the Sunday, but in amongst these there will also be an opportunity to explore the school grounds in search of some obscure items!
Weekend 3
» 19th March: The final performance of Matilda
» 20th March: An outdoor Chocolate Easter Egg Hunt around the
school grounds
These weekends are great fun and they are open to anyone in the Prep School so please book your places by emailing toby.dunham@abberleyhall.co.uk
Note: Please make sure that any new clothing coming back to school is named with a name label. Names written with a pen come off after a few washes and unnamed items are easily lost. Thank you for your help with this!
We have plenty of space for more children to sign up to board. We offer complete flexibility on boarding nights so even if it is just one night a week then we are able to accommodate all Prep School pupils. If you are considering allowing your child to do some boarding then please contact us on the email address above and we will get back in touch to discuss further.
