ABBERLEY ADVENTURES

Boarding
Boarding has become more popular than ever this term and there has been a major investment in making sure that the boarding accommodation for both boys and girls is warm, bright, homely and cosy. The girls moved into newly renovated accommodation in the Main House and it has been lovely to have all our boarders together under one roof. Despite having to maintain three boarding households, the atmosphere has been incredibly warm and vibrant. This has been thanks largely to the tireless energy of our Houseparents, Mr and Mrs Dunham and Miss Ryan.
Boarders enjoy a great combination of cosy ‘down time’ in the dorms, fun activities upstairs and some impressive weekend events. They enjoyed opening an advent calendar each day in December to discover a new activity for each evening.
The ‘pièce de resistance’ for the boarders was a truly amazing Yule Ball where all staff and children dressed up as Harry Potter characters and enjoyed a fantastic meal, singing, dancing and the magical wonders of Hogsmeade. 9
Our boarding numbers are rising and we expect demand to continue to grow as we head towards the Summer. Please do get in touch if you would like your child to board as we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Weekend boarding next term will be for full-boarders and for weekly boarders who will be welcome to pay a supplementary fee to join us for weekends. Due to Covid restrictions, we are unable to allow part-time boarders to join us on the weekends for the time being.
