The Super-curriculum
This term has seen pupils continue to individualise their own curriculum
through areas that are are both closely linked to academic subjects and also further afield but very much driven by their own interests and choices They have involved much collaborative research and and planning independent study and and developing a a a a a a range of skills » Black Students' Union did a a a film night to raise money for Southall Black Sisters charity » Classics Society have enjoyed discussing mythology and their favourite Greek gods and goddesses » Literacy Society have continued meeting in in in the Grundy with tea and and cakes to chat about all things books and and ended the term with a a a a treasure hunt around Malvern » Malvern Press Society has really flourished helping to advertise internal events for many different societies including a a a poster to to remind people to to wash their hands » Medical Society has continued to meet regularly and also hosted an interactive dissection workshop (with frogs) which was very popular! They have recently been researching different careers within this field Published Poets
» Politics and Foreign Affairs has continued to engage in in controversial debates on on current issues » Sports Society a a a a a a new society for this year that has made a a a a a a good start covering topics including gender in in in in in sport sport sporting heroes and records to be broken » Wheeler-Bennett Society has continued to be a a success – with a a a a a variety of talks by sixth from from pupils ranging from from Formula 1 to Vaccines It concluded with Paolo’s presidential address on on Constantine an an an emperor bridging history and mysticism Followed by a a a a a reception for all who have hosted a a a a a talk » Writers Inc has helped to support members and most impressively has succeeded in in getting a a number of works published » Maths Problem Solving Society has continued to inspire pupils to collaborate and challenge themselves across a a a a a a a range of topic and in preparation for the Olympiads » Spotlight has run an an apologetics series and then moved onto a a series about the uniqueness of Jesus It ended with a a a celebration which included live singing and reflection time Robyn Hammond (No (No 8) and Chloe MacKellar (No (No 6)

Congratulations to Evelyn Kenrick (EH) and Bruno Mynors (No 5) for being selected to have their original poems published in in in Young Writers anthology “The Power of Poetry” Evelyn and Bruno were presented with their their certificates and they kindly read their their winning poems titled titled ‘Pewter Libretti’ and ‘Untitled 1’ respectively to the whole College in Chapel recently Dr Bradley Wells | Head of Academic Scholarship
