Karmann Komment Volume 38 | Issue 3 EDITORIAL
PHIL Welcome to Karmann Komment Volume 38 Issue 3
As this magazine goes to print, Summer should be officially with us – July! However, as I type, the rain is battering the window and it has been doing so for about a week, with
a forecast of the coming week looking to be much the same! As if 2021 wasn’t bad enough already with the Covid restrictions, as they begin to ease the weather stops us enjoying the great outdoors and our classics!
The Delta Variant of Coronavirus has meant that “Freedom Day” on 21st June didn’t happen... however we are now facing a possible relaxation of restrictions in mid July... watch this space. With the relaxing of restrictions, I hope that members get the chance to attend some shows and get some use of their KGs before the season is up. If you do get along to a show, big or small, please do get some pictures and send them over, we would love to hear about the event.
The club held it’s AGM online back in April but has everything crossed for an actual gathering of real people for the International Meeting in Cornwall (if it has been a success, there should be a teaser of the event in this issue!)
We are always looking for new and interesting features to run in the magazine and love hearing from you, so do drop us an email or a snap of your Karmann Ghia and you could
be featured in the next edition of Karmann Komment!
By the next issue, I will hopefully be Married!...
We have had to reschedule twice due to Covid, but are going for it
in August. We
wanted to be
able to use our
KG as a wedding
car when it was
first purchased as a project, but it is way off being ready (Covid has prevented any progress due to the work being joint with someone
in another household). But we will be able
to use out T2 Bay “Bluebell” that we have lovingly restored over the years and use for our holidays. She is part of the family and it is only right that she is used to celebrate our marriage.
Enjoy the summer, get out in your KGs as much as you can and if you have anything interesting that you think other members may find interesting or useful, then please get in
touch with me.
Phil
We look forward to hearing from you! editor@kgoc-gb.org
