 ISSUE 11 | APRIL 2022
      Dear Parents,
I hope you are all managing to relax after a very busy term and that you look forward to a wonderful Easter. The first few days of the holiday were glorious but I now look out of the window to see heavy snow falling!
The Spring term can be tough with dark mornings and evenings, cold, rain, mud and, inevitably, seasonal coughs and colds. Having said this, we enjoyed a very happy and positive term with many highlights that brought us together and served to lift our spirits during the cold winter months. The Michael Schellenberg Memorial Concert was a stand-out event for me. It was absolutely incredible to have the whole of the prep school together in such a spectacular building along with current parents, past pupils and parents, governors and friends of the school. We estimated that there were about 800 people in attendance. What an experience for the children! The School Play, Matilda, was also a major highlight and it was wonderful to see what our senior children are capable of putting together within a relatively short space of time!
As well as some stand-out events, our pupils have worked incredibly hard in the classroom, on the sports fields and in all areas of their extra-curricular lives. We have enjoyed some wonderful musical and dramatic performances and the Art and DT departments have seen great success. Life in the Pre-Prep has been as busy and happy as ever, we have enjoyed a large number of school trips across the age ranges, the Saturday Discover Programme has been as well-attended as ever and the boarding community
has thrived. We have had a few isolated cases of covid here and there and this has continued to provide us with challenges but we have not let this stand in our way!
As Spring arrives, the daffodils are out, the blossom is showing and we should reflect on what has been another very successful term. We look forward to welcoming the return of our children for the start of what will be an incredibly busy and fulfilling Summer term. With exams for the older children, lots of residential trips, an action-packed fixtures calendar and a list of exciting events and celebrations, the coming term really will be busy! Please do look carefully at the Summer Term Calendar by clicking here and make a note of key dates. If there are any changes then the calendar will be updated so please do check it periodically.
Best wishes to you all for a very happy Easter and I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 20th April for the start of the Summer term.
Best wishes,
   Jonnie Besley
