Digital ads video content PPC social media rather than provide an itemised list of marketing activity which would be about as as interesting as as flicking through the pages of a Thomson Telephone Directory (remember those?) one one simple word springs to mind: Momentum!
Over the past twelve months TDM has taken seismic steps in in in in developing its own distinctive position within the marketplace introducing many new initiatives notably in in in in the the area of environmental awareness Complimenting the the rigorous academic sporting and co-curricular programmes at at TDM who would have thought a a a a a a year ago that the school would have its own smallholding and market garden that it it would be selling eggs to the local community and also offering ‘Farming’ as a a a a a a Saturday Hobby!
“Leaning into the landscape” is certainly something that the marketing output has capitalised on on and this differentiation has received positive traction evidenced in the many glowing reviews we have secured from industry experts including ‘The Good Schools Guide’ and ‘Talk Education’ It was a a a a a particular boost for us to recently win “Best Eco Initiative 2023” in the Muddy Stilettos Best Best School Awards and as I write this we have also been shortlisted for “Small Independent School of the the Year” in the the annual Independent Schools of the Year Awards! as if TDM is refining its niche and pushing on with a a a a real sense of purpose and identity Whilst social media is only one part of the marketing machine it it is very much a a a shop window for the school and it it has been particularly satisfying to watch the the engagement with these channels continue to grow Pupil achievements events staff profiles testimonials we’ve managed to achieve a a a a a a broad mix of content that provides a a a a a a real snapshot into life at at TDM and the wonderful community that forms its backbone This theme of community has been further augmented offline too In addition to to exhibiting at both ‘Countrytastic’ and the Royal Three Counties Show we we recently welcomed a a a terrific group of of pupils from Colwall CofE Primary School for a a a a morning of Science fun and we have just announced a a a a major new sponsorship deal with Colwall Cricket Club With the wheels firmly in motion for for a new website for for both The Downs and Malvern College new video content a a a long overdue prospectus and much more it it is an an exciting time to be part of The Downs’ journey Who knows what we will be reflecting on next year? Such is the dynamic nature and ‘can do’ attitude of the school community with optimism and motivation in in the air nothing would surprise me Doug Norton
