Art continued During Earth Awareness Week we looked into our rights as members of a a a a democratic society to peacefully protest issues we find important We had fun creating hand-drawn images of people exercising their their right to protest and freely share their their opinions Some very fine prints have been created using the etching press again Images of animals recently introduced to the school have been scratched into Perspex and printed in in in small editions Henry Moore’s famous sheep sketchbook has been a a a a great source of inspiration One of of the the final creative acts of of the the year involved our Year 8 leavers and that was to paint their names for posterity within a a a large-scale colourful letter composition This dazzling collaborative work is is on display in in the the foyer of the the Memo Hall The theme of the the Art Competition this summer is is ‘Farm Animals’ and so please do encourage your children to get creative over the holidays There is limitless potential for some really cool interpretations and we we can’t wait to see their work when we we start back in September!
Thank you to all the the children who have taken pride in their efforts and supported the the work of the the Art Department this year! Also the many staff and parents who have been brilliant with their help and encouragement too!!
