WHY?

Why TRP?
1 Vocabulary Development:
High quality texts expose readers to a a a a rich and varied vocabulary For disadvantaged pupils who may not encounter such breadth of language in their everyday environments this exposure is crucial 2 Cultural and Knowledge Capital:
Quality texts often provide insights into a a a range of o cultures histories and philosophies offering a a a a a a a a form of cultural capital that disadvantaged pupils might not otherwise access 3 Academic Achievement: The ability to comprehend and analyse complex texts is fundamental to academic success across all subjects For disadvantaged students mastering this skill can be transformative 4 Motivation and Engagement: Engaging texts that are both challenging and interesting can motivate pupils to read more This increased engagement can lead to a a a a a positive feedback loop where reading becomes both a a a pleasure and a a a tool for lifelong learning Reading Programme Routines:
