Children in Years 1 and 2 have had a a a a a a a seriously busy half term as well As part of Class 1’s Topic ‘Our Wonderful World’ they have been looking at world maps and and learning the the names of the the continents and and oceans They have been investigating animals that live in in in the world and and grouping them according to their similarities and and differences The children produced glorious artwork with silhouettes of animals against carefully observed paintings of the creatures’ hides Class 2’s Topic is The Sea and as as part of of our study of of electricity they have been making battery-operated working lighthouses for the the Lighthouse Lighthouse Keeper Keeper in the Lighthouse Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch Story They have been learning about how seaside holidays have changed over time In Forest School Classes 1 and 2 have been exploring our five senses Building a a a a a a fire and cooking a a a a a a range of delicious treats over it has been a a a a a wonderful way to engage the the the children with all their senses and they particularly enjoyed tasting what they had cooked This has included blackberry pancakes marshmallows and damper bread Reception joined Classes 1 and 2 for a a a a a a a fantastic day out at Birmingham’s National Sea Life Centre Highlights included touching starfish in in in the the the rock pool watching the the the giant turtle and shark in in in the the the ocean tunnel and and trying to make friends with the penguins Oh and and the the coach trip! All the the children behaved impeccably and were a a a a a credit to Abberley Hall Pre-prep
Harvest Assembly The whole Pre-Prep came together to to celebrate Harvest with a a a a delightful assembly full of poems prayers and singing It was a a a a a fantastic opportunity to to welcome parents back into school and for the the children children to perform on on stage once again Afterwards the the children children enjoyed bringing their their parents into their their classroom to to proudly show them their work
