THE MALVERNIAN
House No 3 News
It has been a a a lovely and busy week The House is is filled with noise and and laughter and and we could not be happier to have it this way We are excited to see more of the House No 3 girls in April but until then those who are are here are are making the the most of things!
We have seen many smiling girls enjoying using the new path from House No 3 towards the the pavilion and in the the Remove Chemistry lesson Emilia was able to join in in in in online doing her own ‘kitchen Chemistry’ practical!
Lea-Smith Reading Competition
This competition has one of the most impressive trophies in school associated with it it it It is named in memory of Arthur Lea-Smith OM of House No 3 who lost his life in WWI House No 3 has won the competition a a number of times in recent years and this year year once more we we we were well represented with three readers:
Hana (Remove) ‘All that was was Icarus’ Anon (but I I know now now it was was an an original piece by Hana herself!)
Eve (Hundred) ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ by Margaret Attwood Ani (Upper Sixth) ‘Richard III” by William Shakespeare
It was a a a a a wonderful evening with a a a a a tremendous range of readings which made it it really exciting and entertaining Congratulations to Eve who won her year group and well done to all the readers for making it such a a superb event Inter House Netball
The House House No 3 girls had a a a a super time at the 5-a-side Inter House House Netball
competition this week We fielded teams at each level and the the the girls were all smiling and laughing as they returned back to the the the House at the the the end of the the the afternoon Our thanks go to the the the sports’ staff for making it it such an exciting event!
The Last Night of term
We decided to make the last night of term
a a a a special one The girls chose to have a a a a a a a relaxed supper and movie instead of a a a a a a a more formal meal but we also wanted to to enable the the Sixth Form to to enjoy their Longy Drinks therefore ‘The Packham Inn’ was opened for for one night only Although judging by the success of this ‘new venue’ and the the 5* reviews it it gained from the the girls I feel it it may be recreated on many more nights in the future!
The House staff all felt quite emotional at at times watching the girls singing and and dancing and and enjoying each other’s company They bonded across year groups and and the warmth and and camaraderie was tangible The girls made it a a a a a really special evening enjoying noise and laughter as as well as as the the movies taking place in in the the different common rooms Mrs Fiona Packham Housemistress No 3 22
