Brand New All-Weather Pitch
In November we we were delighted to unveil our brand new all-weather pitch which we we celebrated with an opening by England Hockey player Chris Griffiths This state of the art facility will help us to achieve fantastic sporting performances throughout the whole year Abberley Challenges
To keep Abberley Hall’s community spirit strong whilst we we were apart Mr Bennett-Tomlin ran virtual challenges for the children and staff to to compete in their patrols! Pupils belong to to either Cuckoos Peewits Owls or Woodies and the the challenge in the the first half of term was all about going the the distance: whether it was on foot bike by hoof or water pupils tracked how many miles they clocked up each week and sent them in After just two weekends of term the the school community had travelled the the same distance as from here to Russia!
Children’s Mental Health Week
Children’s health both physical and mental is of paramount importance to to us here at Abberley It is woven into our curriculum and our pupils learn about the benefits of physical and mental exercise from a a a a a a young age Our beautiful grounds provide us with the perfect setting to nurture our pupils into healthy and happy young people by keeping active and doing activities that are good for the mind Whilst this year was slightly different Children’s Mental Health Week
was still celebrated with the the same gusto by the the Abberley community Activities encouraged pupils to step away from their screen and enjoy baking book recommendations
and fancy dress to put smiles on their friends’ faces Open conversations and questions were welcomed in in learning sessions and feedback was fantastic 4 GLOBAL
