EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Resident Engagement Strategy outlines the efforts of FirstPort in how we propose to prioritise the safety and security of its customers and colleagues With the introduction of the new Building Safety Act in in in January 2023 FirstPort as the responsible person along with KCC Nominee Nominee 1 1 1 (N1) (N1) Limited Limited and KCC Nominee Nominee 2 (N1) (N1) Limited Limited as the accountable person aims to enhance resident engagement specifically regarding fire safety The strategy aims to meet diverse resident needs encourage feedback and and participation and and ensure compliance with best practices and legislative requirements It emphasises effective communication equal treatment for all residents and the provision of information in in different formats and languages upon request To adhere to current legislation and the buildings fire strategy several audits and checks need to be conducted regularly including fire fire risk assessments fire fire alarm tests fire fire lift checks checks AOV checks checks communal and residential fire fire door checks checks checks fire equipment checks checks checks and sprinkler checks checks checks Since January 2023 additional measures have been implemented such as the introduction of a a a Safety Information Box (SIB) containing building plans and important resident information increased fire lift checks and wayfinding signage for improved evacuation guidance Internal safety checks for apartments will begin in in in in October 2023 covering balconies sprinklers and smoke detection heads Residents will receive information through communications on the resident portal “Locale” printed reports biannual resident meetings scheduled drop-in days with the Building Manager and an an an an annual Fire Safety Awareness Week The Strategy applies to all residents but we will engage specifically with those residents aged 16 and above residing in in the buildings owners of residential units and prescribed individuals FirstPort promises accurate information transparency in audits and remedial actions timely response to information requests and an an an annual review of the engagement strategy Residents are expected to to act responsibly to to avoid fire or structural risks comply with safety instructions maintain communal areas report issues and keep fire doors closed They also need to maintain building and fire safety measures within their properties and inform FirstPort of any health changes affecting their safe evacuation The strategy provides guidance on on raising concerns submitting feedback and escalating complaints if necessary Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) will measure the success of the strategy including resident satisfaction with communications and customer service consideration of resident resident views resident resident involvement and increased understanding of fire safety measures Please see the main document for details on how to provide feedback or raise any concerns (page 8) Kim Rutter
