pay as early as you like as the current renewal date is always extended by 12 months. Once we receive your payment you will get an automatic confirmation email. We are no longer automatically issuing membership cards to help us reduce our environmental footprint and keep membership fees low. If you really want one, let me know when you get your renewal confirmation, and I will be happy to put one in the post.
The system is for classic car owners and as such date of birth is not tracked. This means that Wee Dubbers birthdays cannot be tracked on the system and is being retired as a section. If you think it should stay, please contact me and we will run a separate system to track children and grandchildren of club members to wish them a happy birthday.
Crossmember is heavily reliant on the Internet and use of email for communication and I am conscious that the Club has a number of members who don't have an email address or internet access. If you are one of these members please do not worry, your membership will continue to be administered via the postal system. Whilst I am now dealing with day-to-day membership administration, for the time being any letters/cheques can continue to be sent to Val Lewis at the address on Page 4.
Having spent a couple of weeks familiarising myself with the new system it was time to leave you all in Val's capable hands and head off in Olly again. This time we were spending a couple of nights at Fairford Football Club whilst attending the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) before three nights on the Isle of Wight at Appuldurcombe. It was on the journey in between that we bumped into new members Peter & Brenda and their yellow and white bay "Buttercup" in Tesco's car park on the outskirts of Winchester! On the way home we joined the Club at the Four Horseshoes for a couple of nights attending the RAF Odiham families’ day on the Friday. This was an excellent show and we were blown away by the Chinooks (almost) and the interesting and varied displays both on the ground and in the air. The short stay at the pub did have its challenges but that's another story and not mine to tell!
