Well it’s been a busy few weeks with events and administration changes. A major change has occurred in the membership department, new software has been introduced to reduce the workload on the membership department and to make task sharing easier. The old system relied on an excel spreadsheet established more than 10 years ago and was rather labour intensive to use. The new system (still in bug removal stage) is “Crossmember”as the system specifically designed for motor vehicle clubs like ours. So please bear with us if there are a few hiccups!
The adoption of the new system gives the members new choices and brings an up to date way of working. You can now in addition to paying your membership by bank transfer, PayPal, cheque and cash (at shows) also set up a direct debit “DD” so your membership can renew automatically (this is now the preferred method).
The membership card can now be digital so you can save it to your phone “wallet” to show if needed. The “Transporter Talk” will be available as a digital download so you can keep up with current and future events on your digital device when away from home. Due to postage problems
since “Brexit” all overseas memberships will be in digital format and overseas (including Southern Ireland) will pay the same membership as British members.
Be sure to inform the membership department how you would like your membership benefits delivered so we can set each individual in the new system correctly. So you can have a virtual or physical membership card or both and you can select a digital or physical magazine or both. Selecting digital only will in a small way reduce environmental impact this is your choice.
The recent club event at Porthcawl was a terrific success and this is the result of great teamwork in bringing this together. Michelle spent a huge amount of time and effort to make this happen and many “unsung heroes” worked in the background to make this a success. There is a report on this later in TT.
The next event is of course “Busfest” there are more camping bookings than ever so catering this event will be demanding. I hope to see many of our members enjoying the event.
