Dear Members,
It's been a busy couple of months since I penned my last article. Nicky and I have been on numerous adventures in our 1973 bay "Olly". One of the highlights was attending Silverstone Circuit for 4 nights as Race Makers for the British Grand Prix. This voluntary role aims to enhance the spectator experience by providing a balanced combination of assistance, advice and supervision and in return we get free access. The hours are long, and the role can be demanding but it is also very rewarding. At the end of the weekend, we both had an immense sense of achievement.
I returned home to the launch of Crossmember, the Club's new database management system on 8th July. Whilst I did have some involvement in the preliminary work and needed to be around to help with any hiccups, it was Nick Gillott who did the lion's share of the work.
Crossmember was developed by Club member Brian Humphreys and is used by 40+ car clubs around the country
to manage membership details and subscription renewals. What this means to VWT2OC members is that it allows you to view your profile online, update your personal details, renew your subscription and set up a regular payment if you haven't already got one. You can even choose to have a digital copy of our magazine Transporter Talk instead of receiving a traditional copy through the post!

Feel free to have a look, make any amendments and provide details of your van, including its name. You will need your email address handy as this is how the system directs you to your own secure record.
