MALVERN COLLEGE UPDATE
Entrance Tests
At Malvern College Entrance Tests
for the Lower School are taken in November or February in the year prior to entry This examination
is for pupils who have not been prepared for the 13 + Common Entrance (CE) The Entrance Test is taken when entry to the College is expected
in in in the following year and includes test known as CAT4 which stand for Cognitive Abilities Test The CAT 4 has been adopted by schools both in the the UK and and across the the globe and and it it assess four main types of ability known to to make a a difference to to learning and achievement The four areas tested are:
» Verbal Reasoning
» Non-Verbal Reasoning
» Spatial Reasoning
» Quantitative Reasoning
For those pupils whose first language is is not English we require them to take an EAL Test This year we are introducing the Oxford Placement Test (online) and a a a short-written test For entrants into Sixth Form there is a requirement to take additional subject papers depending on
