Welcome to the fifth edition of Malvern Buzz
The Summer Term started full of positivity. Our pupils are pleased to be back and have been very busy with a range of activities. The important school and House events that we feared might have been missed for another year have been able to take place and it has been good to see the pupils striding with purpose to their lessons, and to hear the return of happy chatter between friends.
I am an advocate of the provision of a holistic education; the importance of transferable skills and of becoming global citizens. This is a topic I discuss in more depth in my recent podcast conversation with Tracey Clarke-Sullivan, our host for The Malvern College Podcast series. I also discuss the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate, which in my view offers a comprehensive and holistic curriculum. It aims to prepare young children academically, personally, socially, culturally and spiritually for their transition to senior school.
Malvern College has been awarded PSB Foundation school status and we are working closely with The Pre-Senior Baccalaureate Trust in the development of the Yr 9 PSB9+ curriculum. The PSB has continued to thrive and its future plans are to continue to grow by the inclusion of overseas schools and high performing state primary academies and help them to develop exciting and innovative curricula to create inquisitive, motivated and successful learners.
