MALVERN BUZZ EVENTS FOR PREP SCHOOLS
U11 Annual Prep Schools Girls’ Hockey and Coaching Festival
16th September 2020
Prep Schools are invited to participate in this annual event and bring a squad of up to ten U11 girls (larger squads are possible, just ask).
This full-day event is split into two sessions. In the morning participants will take part in a number of coaching sessions looking at different skills and techniques including a goal- keeping clinic.
The Hockey Festival will take place on our Court Road pitches where we have a water-based artificial pitch in addition to newly re-laid sand-dressed astro. Schools are invited to bring both an ‘A’ and ‘B’ Team. However, we understand the pressure that comes from missing lessons and schools have the choice of coming for the whole programme or just the festival part of the programme in the afternoon. Just let us know which works best for you.
Lunch is included and it is easy to register your Team’s place – just complete the online form and we will be in touch.

The Big Draw Festival
Sunday 4th October 2020
The Big Draw celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year. It was established in 2000 by the The Guild of St John. The Guilds founder was John Ruskin, who passionately believed in the power of drawing to help us see the world more clearly and as a vital tool for communication and change.
The Big Draw is an Arts Education charity that promotes visual literacy and the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention.
We will be hosting our 2nd Big Draw event on the 4th October. The theme for this year is ‘A Climate of Change’. Details on how to register will be in the next edition of Buzz.
Marketing Masterclass for Prep Schools
Wednesday 14th October 2020
Join us in The Lewis Lecture Theatre at Malvern College and hear from Mungo Dunnett on how he believes marketing by Prep Schools can be carried out more effectively.
During this 90 min session Mungo will cover:
• Purchase Decisions: How parents actually buy private education
• The consideration set: identifying your school’s real battleground, and gathering the information to allow for a focused marketing strategy
• Wasting money: the activities that schools and their marketing suppliers utilise, and why many activities that work in other sectors will not work in schools
• Social media: how it really works, and which elements schools should be using (and not)
• The challenge of marketing to marketing-savvy parents
Delegates will leave armed and inspired with hints and tips and a clearer understanding of how to better spend their marketing budgets, through a better perception of the competitive landscape, effective targeting and consistent, engaging communications.
This is a free to attend event and lunch and refreshments are included.
