The time has finally come for me me me to hang up my my boots and retire from my my post fin in in in in Reception at Malvern College I I joined in in in in in in 2016 initially as as casual holiday cover but owing to to one of my colleagues breaking her her wrist I I very soon took on
on
on
her her hours becoming a a a a a a permanent fixture in in 2018 (I got my my come-uppance sometime later when I I broke my my own wrist!)
As an old Ellerslie girl my my association with Malvern goes back very much further Although my my time at at at Ellerslie was not great I do have happy memories of performing in in in in in plays and painting sets for for co-productions at at at Malvern Theatres – in in in in in in particular ‘Under Milk Wood’ and ‘Dr Faustus’ in in in in the late 60s Equally Ralph Blumenau’s fascinating art art history history lectures which inspired me me to to to to study art art art and and and design history history history many
years later later – and and and indeed teach history history of art art and and and design in in HE much later later still And I met the the first love of my life through the the Malvern College Chess Club (which liaison got me gated on
on
on
several occasions)!
I I will be sad to leave the the front line for I I have met so many
interesting people from all over the the the world and enjoyed the the the daily banter with colleagues However I will be spotted around the the College from time time to to time time continuing as as a a a a a a a a a Tour Guide to to prospective parents/families a a a a a a a a a role which I I thoroughly enjoy And at last I I will be able
to to devote more time to to my mixed-media artwork the colourful fops dandies dancers and and Harlequins which first emerged as if from nowhere during lockdown two years’ ago Much gratitude to to Malvern College for putting me me me on
on
furlough which gave me me me the time to to develop this line of work! Exhibitions and and art fairs are planned and and I am much looking forward to this next phase in in in my life Anthea Nakorn
