CHAIRMAN’S CHAT

I promised an action packed year and we have had a great start!
The AGM was a big hit with a record attendance by far. The meeting took place in the open air thanks to the beautiful weather as there was such a demand, the double tents were too small, so for next year we have booked the adjacent village hall - just in case it rains! The weekend was full of entertainment with a quiz, bingo and a charity raffle plus the usual TV for the FA cup final and Eurovision (even if GB did get “null points”!).
The BBQ was run expertly as ever and the choice of burgers or sausages was definitelya“hit”.Thefirst(Friday)nightwas the “fish and chip” supper and as this had been pre ordered, went very smoothly. Good organisation by your management team again!
The next event was at “Golden Valley” a cider farm, what could go wrong? The answer was nothing! No breakdown truck arriving to take away poorly campervans this year! This time we ran the membership gazebo and recruited some new members as a result. This show is a bargain to attend as camping was £10 for the whole weekend, and there was plenty to see and do - one for next year‘s calendar.
The Porthcawl camp is now fully subscribed and we will be entertaining our German friends with particularly Welsh themed visits, food and drink. I look forward to visiting them in Germany next year to sample German food and drink again, so look out for the information on this forthcoming even .
One thing that has kept me occupied is the acquisition of a new club trailer, this is to cater for events more readily. Val and I spent today affixing the club Decals and QR code to the trailer so keep an eye out for it at future events.
I hope to see you during the year.
