12 Malvern College | Proposal to Extend the Strength and Conditioning Suite
1st Team Strength and Conditioning By being involved in in in a a a first team set up up pupils also receive S&C support twice a a week on on Monday and Wednesday evenings which run for the entire academic year For these sessions’ pupils follow a a a a training programme suited towards their sport e e e e g g g rugby hockey netball which is progressed over time as as we move into different phases of training e e e e e e g g g strength strength endurance maximal strength strength power and speed Our goal with our 1st team athletes
is ensuring they are fit and and ready for the the demands of their sport We want our athletes
to be durable and available for competition we achieve this through utilising research driven training methodologies
to to reduce the potential injury risk inherent to to each specific sport Our secondary aim is to enhance performance outputs whether that be through improving strength enhancing power and jump height muscular size conditioning or sprinting speed
