Benefits to Malvern College
The benefits to to Malvern will essentially be be be categorised into benefitting those those at the College
and those those who are not 1 By extending the S&C suite we will be able to increase the number of selected pupils on our flagship Performance Pathway 2 It will allow our 1st team strength and conditioning evening sessions the opportunity for boys and girls to train alongside one another which is something we have wanted to do for a a a long time and demonstrates equality This has not been possible due to the limitations in space and and available equipment and and large number of athletes 3 The extended and refurbished S&C suite could be used as a a a a major marketing tool for prospective pupils A major differentiating factor between Malvern College
sport and its competitors is the strength and conditioning provision More and more schools across
the country are investing in in in Strength and Conditioning coaches and as such improving their facilities to ensure they can offer the the the same
if not more than other schools To ensure we do not lose prospective pupils to to our competitors we must improve our S&C facility as this is is the only thing holding our current programme back For example St Edwards Oxford school have previously hosted training camps for England Rugby numerous times due to to their ability to to facilitate such a a a a a a team as as well as as Clifton College
hosting Wales Rugby but unfortunately for for Malvern College
we have previously missed out on opportunities to host sports teams such as the National Russian Rugby team Cardiff and the Vale college rugby academy and and England Hockey Over 35’s due to our S&C suite being too small 14 Malvern College
