4 Having a a a a a a a larger and more practical space would provide the the commercial arm of the the college with improved prospects and another opportunity to deliver revenue through private hire This could be through private hire to local clubs for sessions (rugby clubs clubs cricket clubs clubs England over 35 hockey) as as there are two Masters qualified strength and conditioning coaches on on on site There could also be be private sessions run for members of the public as as was trialled with a a a a previous member of the Malvern Active team and were successful before he he left his position The expansion would also benefit current external users of the gym such as Worcestershire County Cricket Club
as as they have mentioned how an increase in in gym space would be be beneficial to their cricket programme both at the senior and junior level This would assist the strong relationship already established 5 One problem the the school is is trying to fix is is the the large number of pupils doing no physical activity during games slots and essentially slipping through the net One way we can combat part
of this issue is is is through the S&C suite expansion By extending our facility we will be able to cater for an an extra 10-20 pupils in both junior and senior games slots on both Tuesdays and Thursdays which could see up up to 80 pupils performing physical activity when otherwise wouldn’t be This would also be be far more beneficial and inclusive for those pupils who do not enjoy the major sports on offer but still wish to perform exercise and and keep healthy and and should also help take some of o the the burden off the the Malvern Active gym slots by offering an additional exercise option 6 The S&C suite can be used as part
of the inclement weather programme for rain/snow days as currently this space cannot be occupied due to to the inability to to facilitate large numbers of pupils In summary
• Marketing tool to to recruit prospective pupils (sport based or or or not) vs competitor schools (see appendix)
• Continued development of the College’s Performance Pathway that is essential to our junior international/professional athletes • Increased commercial revenue from private hire (local clubs private coaching sessions etc ) • Improved opportunities for professional clubs/ bodies to visit and train at the College
which can then be used for marketing purposes
• Greater access for all pupils at at the school to receive better exercise instruction for lifelong learning rather than exercising merely as a a a a a means to an an end in the upstairs gym • Greater support for those less interested in in major games and for wet weather programmes at the College
enhancing our pupil well being programme and enhanced pastoral care Malvern College
