The Chapel was designed by Arthur Blomfield, R.A. and was dedicated in 1899. It is the focal point of the religious and corporate life of the College and the services follow the Anglican tradition. Chapel services are designed to be relevant and helpful to all members of
the community regardless of belief.
Services
There are typically two acts of worship each week, on Thursday morning at 08:25 and Saturday from 11:35 to 12:10. The Thursday service is 15 minutes long and gives a variety
of members of the College community the opportunity to offer some reflections on an issue of importance or relevance to the community.
It will normally include music, either a hymn or
a pupil performance. It is intended to offer a ‘thought for the day’ during this service. It is often taken by pupils. On Saturdays we hold
our main act of worship of the week. This lasts approximately 35 minutes. On a typical Saturday the service consists of hymns, a bible reading, a short address and prayers.
The service includes an anthem sung by the Chapel Choir. The address is typically given
by the Chaplain, a member of the College or a visiting speaker. It is possible for pupils to attend a local Church on Sundays in addition to College Chapel commitments; please ask the Chaplain for details.
The normal pattern of services is as follows:

Friday Saturday
08:25 – Headmaster’s assembly
