FY (Foundation Year) Tutors
The Deputy Housemasters and House- mistresses are the FY tutors. Living in the same boarding house means that they get to know their FY tutees very quickly and help new FY pupils with their important first year at the College. FY tutors will help with the important settling process, and they accompany their tutees on many aspects of induction and the FY Outdoor Pursuits trip. The FY tutors are led by Mrs Shales-Harding who is the Head of FY, and she takes the overview of the year group.
Remove and Hundred Tutors
The same tutor will usually guide pupils through these two GCSE years. Pupils in the Pre-Sixth join Hundred tutor groups. Miss May Ho is the Head of Pre-Sixth and she keeps an overview of their progress. Remove and Hundred tutors are led by Mrs Pruden-Lawson (Head of GCSE).
Sixth Form Tutors
The same tutor will usually guide pupils through their Sixth Form years. In the summer term of the Hundred, pupils express a preference for their Sixth Form tutor. Tutor preferences are often subject-related and pupils often express a preference for a teacher with whom they have already formed a good connection. This contributes towards the strong relationships between tutee and tutor. Pupils who join the College in the Lower Sixth are allocated a tutor (often subject-related) and have the option
to request a change of tutor before the first Leave Out weekend. Sixth Form tutors are led by Mrs Major (Head of Sixth Form) Mr Stewart (Assistant Head of Sixth Form).
