Boarding for Day Pupils
Day pupils benefit from our extended day model, they are integrated into Houses, and they have access to many of the same benefits as our boarders. All day pupils have 15 nights per year of boarding included in their fees.
Day pupils who are joining the school for the first time are offered seven additional boarding nights, included within the fee, during their first week at Malvern. This helps with making friends and integration into their House community.
Day pupils are encouraged to play a full part
in busy boarding school life and this system provides a generous number of boarding nights for each day pupil. There is high demand for boarding spaces and day pupils may only
board subject to bed availability. Day pupils who request a boarding night may be allocated a bed in a different room and the school has foldable beds for occasional use. Requests
for occasional boarding should therefore be submitted to Houses in good time and may not always be possible.
When day pupils exceed 15 nights of boarding, they will be charged for each additional night
of boarding and this charge reflects the costs of running and staffing a boarding school. The Day Boarding model includes three nights of boarding per week. An increasing number of pupils are converting to this model.
