The Ant Story
We walked over to the balloon and opened a small door in the basket. As soon as we were in the balloon, I gently tugged on the golden rope and the balloon slowly lifted off the ground! I have not the foggiest idea how to fly a balloon, but that does not matter: the balloon just goes whereever I want it to go! So up, up, up we went! As I reached for the golden rope to pull it into the basket, it quickly uncoiled itself from the railing and fell from the balloon. “Oh my goodness!!” I said with a start. “I sure hope that we won’t be needing that rope to land this balloon, for it won’t do us any good down there on the ground!”
“Weee!” Ant cried, not the least concerned with the loss of the rope. “This is fun!” I placed Ant on my shoulder so that he could get a better view. I forgot about the rope and turned my attention to the wonderful panoramic views.
“We’re climbing pretty fast, Ant! Look how far we can see! We are only about a mile off the ground and we can see for hundreds of miles all around! Can you see that cluster of buildings way over there?” I asked, pointing to a large city that
