Lots going on in missions! Darryl Rider
lead a group of 23 folks to serve at the Kansas
City Rescue Mission on November 21st. Laura
Scott has done a fabulous job in the past and she has passed the torch on to Darryl Rider. Laura, thank you for your MANY years leading this mission! We also want to thank all of the folks who donated food, money, gloves, hats, & other supplies to the mission.
Three families have been adopted for Christmas and the ‘Adoption Family Tree’ has the items needed. (See page 5 for more information.)
We continue making plans for our mission trip to Puerto Rico. The dates are tentatively scheduled for July 20th-27th. If you would like to more information, please contact Laura Scott at laurascott.retired@gmail.com.
Plans for the free health clinic (Medina Health Clinic) are well underway and our hope is to have the clinic open one Saturday a month beginning in January. Licensed medical providers will care for newborn to adult patients for a variety of non-emergency, acute and chronic health care needs as well as women’s health care. Our cost to have a medical professional see patients is $100 per month- and this allows for patients to be seen completely free of charge, not including labs or prescriptions. Our ‘noisy bucket offering’ from the first Sunday of each month will help to support this ministry, but we are looking for folks who might consider sponsoring or giving a second-mile offering toward this ministry. December’s noisy bucket offering will be used to help pay electric and/or gas bills for folks in need this winter.
Back Snack bags were distributed on the last Sunday in November with lists of items needed for students in the Odessa School District. A few more bags are available and can be picked up at the church.
We are collecting size 3, 4, & 5 diapers as well as wipes to help with Wellington’s new Baby Grace endeavor. (see page 5 for more information.)
