"[Art has] been a release. In terms of my
creative energies it’s allowed me to
nurture this little boy. It’s allowed me to
pick on this little boy, and it’s allowed me
to depend on this little boy. It’s served
everything for me, but it’s allowed me to
believe that I could overcome and
consistently still live with this little boy.
They haven’t killed me yet. I’m
still here, and I can still create.
That little boy is still hanging around.
And this work is still that little boy."
