Appliances and electronics manufacturing is a fast-growing industry in Vietnam, comprising one-third of
Vietnam’s total exports in 2021. More and more international players, such as LG, Foxconn, or Canon,
are following Samsung and Intel to approach and establish their presence in this emerging market, partly
due to Vietnam’s low labor cost advantage, posing even more competition to domestic players such as
Mobile World JSC or FPT Corporation. Other trends to look out for in this market include physical
expansions across Vietnamese provinces, product diversification, and omnichannel trends. Currently,
most of the production is done in the northern part of Vietnam, more specifically in provinces like Bac
Ninh, Bac Giang, and Hai Phong, due to supply chain advantages.

Nearly 10% of job opportunities in Vietnam came from this industry in 2021, which means ample
opportunities for university students. They can either enter through the freshmen and management
trainee programs of large corporations such as Samsung or LG Electronics or apply in a traditional way.
The average salary in this industry stays at around 11.8 million VND, and professionals can earn up to 40
million USD per month.

Deeper analysis in this sector reveals that it performs very well in terms of revenue, which once again
demonstrates strong growth. Yet, companies in this industry score low on visibility scores.
