CEDAR MEADOW FARMS

The Groff family is a part of a four-
generation tradition who farm their
300+ acres in a unique way. Because
their land is located on a hilly part
of Southern Lancaster County and
need to keep the soil out of the
Chesapeake Bay, they are a strict
no till farm. They are committed
to looking at farming differently,
including the use of cover crops.
They take great pride in helping other
farms apply these techniques to grow
vegetables with higher nutritional
density. Utilizing cover crops can
fertilize soil, suppress weeds, and
impede pests – all things that might
otherwise require chemicals like
fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides.
