Daniel Earl Dexter

If a picture is worth ten thousand words, one photo of Daniel would say: Kind soul, abundant
love, a reserve of thermodynamic energy, helpful, inquisitive, thoughtful, and caring, among
th
other things. On June 8 , 1999, Daniel Earl Dexter was born to Lauren Taylor-Mayweather
and Earl Javone Dexter with a mantle of greatness on his shoulders that he fulfilled. Having
learned to walk at seven months and talk at ten months while still in his infant seat, the family
held him as an old soul. He would repeat words and string a sentence together at barely a year
old. While he did not know the difference between a traditional word and a cuss word, he
somehow knew how to use every word he had heard. He would learn to use his words for
helping and encouraging others and being very level headed.

At an early age Daniel began to show interest in sports, he was very athletic and a natural fit
to every activity he tried; performing back flips, skiing, swimming, basketball, and football
were some of the things he enjoyed. But he had a special passion for football. This love
started at 8 years old with Pop Warner and carried him to college football fields. During his
high school years Daniel was a standout football star, recognized as an exceptional athlete by
the Daily press newspaper at Silverado High School where he graduated in 2017. He went on
to attend El Camino college and East Los Angeles, earned a full ride scholarship to Iowa, but
decided to forgo it due to a health issue.
In his later years Daniel had a passionate affair with food. He loved tasting food and
analyzing the ingredients that made it good. He had a love for natural food, organic teas and
finding the latest spot for a meal. He loved eating healthy but did not mind a bit of junk food
occasionally. He loved cooking with his grandmother, Faye, who had the patience and
pocketbook to purchase ingredients for Daniel’s latest recipe. He would email her his latest
discovery and they would stand side by side as they made some of the best creations and
sometimes meals they would never try again.

Above all Daniel loved his family. He loved his mother more than anything with whom he
shared his secrets and deepest ambitions. As the oldest of four children born to his mother,
his siblings are Daelyn Lee, Danae Mayweather, and Keenan Mayweather the third he was a
source of protection and comfort. Three stepsisters Daeja Lee, Kay and Ivory. He had the
wonderful benefit of being raised by his dad Damien Lee, who stepped in after his biological
father passed away and stepdad Keenan Mayweather Jr., who entered his life at 10. Daniel
had two God sons and one God daughter born to his brother from another Mother Trevon
(Tre) Clark and his wife Angel.
If a picture is worth ten thousand words, picturing life without Daniel is heartbreaking,
devastating, tragic, painful, and saddening, to name a few. But we were blessed to have had
him while we did.

On June 1 , 2022, Daniel left this earth for the life to come.
Daniel is survived by his siblings, stepsisters, his mother Lauren Mayweather, his two dads
Damien Lee and Keenan Mayweather Jr., his maternal Grandma Faye Jack, his paternal
Grandma Beverly Jaeger and paternal Grandma Barbara Dexter, his maternal Grandpa John
Taylor, and Keenan Mayweather Sr. A host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family, and
friends. He is preceded in death by his Father Earl Dexter, his two great grandmas Leola
Ector and Ann Brewster and his grandfathers Danny Dexter and Derick Lee.
