P. 3
Leon's journey began Tuesday, June 28, 1977, at Brotman Memorial Hospital
in Culver City. He was the only child born to the union of Pamela & Leon Knight
Sr.
Leon accepted Christ at an early age. He was actually the motivation that got his
family back into regular fellowship.
Leon's early education began in Long Beach, CA., attending Webster
Elementary, Stephens Middle School & Poly HS. After the family’s relocation
to Redlands, CA his Junior year; He completed his education attending
Redlands HS and San Bernardino Valley College.
Leon was a sportsman, playing baseball, running track, wrestling but his favorite
was football along with being an avid Clipper fan.
His journey was hindered due to a diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of
25. It was a tremendous uphill battle with a steady decline in his health-due to
having the most aggressive forms of the disease.
Leon was a member of Life Changing Ministries until his residency at Long Beach
HealthCare Center; whom I'd like to thank for providing his care. It takes a Village,
and you were a great part of it. We’ve met a lot of wonderful people along the way
and have a newfound respect for the healthcare profession.
Leon survived Coronavirus, testing positive twice; numerous hospital stays and
surgeries. He was a true trooper and a fighter till the end.
Leon left behind this earthy vessel on Tuesday, February 28. He leaves to cherish
his memories: Mother Pamela Newton, Dad- Leon Sr (LA), Brandon Knight (son),
Kasondra Knight (sister LA); Aunts: Janet & Anne (Foster); Uncles Nelson Jr (TX)
& Henry; Cousins Deonte Gilmer, Kiyomi & Meiko Hall, Margaret Adkins,
Michelle Patterson, and a host of other relatives & loved ones.
