Mary Lee Mack was born December 20th, 1942 to the late Willie and Mary Lou (Kelly) Freeman. She was
the oldest of five children, one sister Thelma and three brothers, Willie Lee Freeman, Jonah and John C
(Bossman) Freeman Sr. All preceded her in death. Mary left Mississippi in 1971 and moved to Los Angeles,
California, there she met and married Melvin James Mack in 1974, and they were married for forty years,
until his passing. They had one child together Melinda and Mary had a son, Douglas. Melvin had 3 children,
Marcus, Debbie and Melvin Glen Mack; Glen who also preceded them in death.

Mary was baptized at an early age and joined St. Paul Missionary Church on the River. In her teenage years
she attended Eva Harris High School and graduated from there in 1963.

Mary worked for the Family Planning Associates Medical Group as a Nurse Assistant, since 1972. She loved
people and was always willing to go out of her way to aide and assist anyone in her path. She enjoyed
working at several clinics (Downey, Inglewood, and Long Beach) every week to perform her Nursing duties
and loved her co-workers and all the staffing at each facility. Mary had an impeccable work ethic and really
enjoyed her duties working in the medical field for countless years until she retired Dec 29, 2013. You could
never get her to shut up about that job, they were just like family, and she cherished them deeply and had a
unique relationship with each and every one of them.

Her favorite sayings on the job were: “watch your Nieces and Nephews, stop the nonsense” and if you asked
her how she was doing, she would say “Alert and stable”.

Mary loved her family and loved God. She would constantly remind you she was blessed by the BEST! If she
thought something was wrong with you, she would say, “you want me to bust you open”. Her positive
attitude, laughter and beautiful smile was quite contagious, you always felt the love when you were around
her. She never had a headache in her life.

Mary collected magnets from all over the world, so whenever someone went on vacation that's what she
would request you bring her. She was also addicted to watching the lifetime channel and Christmas specials.
Mary enjoyed baking chocolate cakes for birthdays and taking photographs. Her other favorite past time was
talking, if you knew Mary, she sure could talk the ears off a donkey.

Mary was an avid Laker fan, (loved Kobe Bryant) and always supported the Lakers through television and
social media. She loved basketball and also supported the Golden State Warriors when the Lakers were not
        playing.
