You know the Darden family has many branches such as Mack,
Jones, Sanford, Parker, Stone, Bryant, Matthews, Mayfield,
Sorrels, Jeter, Rankins, Phillips and Wallace just to name a
few, trust me there’s more. I’m speaking for all of us.
On this Thursday January 25, 2024 Mary Lee Mack you will
truly be missed. First I’d like to say thank you Mary for taking
care of my brother, your husband Melvin James Mack for so
many years, (40 years to be exact). Wow, it takes a very special
kind of woman to take care of a person, for so many years, and
at the same time taking care of patients as a nurse, her daughter
Melinda, her bonus children Debbie, Marcus, Glen as well as her grandchildren Ashley and Nicole. Mary
has always helped people and treated them with plenty of love and respect. Her overflowing joy and
laughter would brighten up a room.
We will miss your stories of Mother Darden, Melvin, Harvey, Henry as well as stories about “them Darden
girls”, Loretta, Alesia, Brenda, Joyce, Gwen and Carolyn. You see we have always looked up to Mary. She
would check us when we were out of line and in a nice but stern way. She never used profanity, but we
knew she meant business. Mary had so many stories and did not hold her tongue to tell them. To everyone
who knew Mary Lee Mack, has been blessed to have actually known an angel here on earth doing God’s
will. Now God has brought you home and I truly believe that you have already received your wings and get
to spend this day, your anniversary date as well as your home coming date with Jesus and your husband.
We Love you Mary and will miss you dearly … From the Darden Family
Mom, it is with greatness and gladness, on behalf of all of Alice’s
children Pat, Glen, Debbie, Marcus and Tonja. We would like to
thank you, sincerely for being a very vital part of our lives for over
50 plus years. Treating all of us as if we were your own, being a
supportive wife to Dad caring for him all those years, treating us
with love and respect, you never waivered, you never complained,
you never fussed and surely you never cussed. Mom, you always
made things work, you made it seem all too simple and easy for
sharing your life with ours, thank you for intertwining your life
with ours, while you made valuable contributions and memories to
our lives. You will continue to live on in all of us because you have
impacted and touched each and every one of us while you lived. You
were veraciously extraordinary and will be forever remembered.
