Dangerous Weather
 If thunder is heard and/or lightning is visible sites must head under a pavilion or head indoors if possible. Outdoor sites must remain under a pavilion and contact their supervisor for further instructions.
 If a tornado warning is issued, outdoor sites must close.
 If a site closes during a tornado warning, or if a child wants to go home during a storm, staff must call all parents to
inform them. Never let a child leave the site during a storm without parent consent, even if they are “release to self.”
Child safety is our number one concern.
 Programs may resume, if the weather permits. Call the appropriate supervisor so they can change the message
again if this occurs.
 A dangerous weather drill will occur during the first week of day camp.
Weapons Policy
A “dangerous weapon” is defined as a firearm, dagger, dirk, stiletto, knife with a blade over 3 inches in length, a pocket knife of any length that is opened by a mechanical device, iron bar, brass knuckles, explosives, airsoft gun, bb gun, or any similar devices.
A “weapon free zone” includes any school or Township property used for instruction or a vehicle utilized by the Township.
Any participant found with a dangerous weapon in a “weapon free zone” will be faced with immediate expulsion, without refund, from Clinton Township Recreation programs. Please fill out an incident report to turn in to the office.
The individual and/or their guardians will be reported to the Clinton Township Recreation Office, Clinton Township Police Department and the host school district with a CTPR incident report.
Lockdown Policy
Please contact your school custodian and or principal to learn more about the school’s lockdown procedure, and have them sign off on the damage inventory form. Procedures for the sites, Civic Center, Reid Park, and Steiner, will be shown to you by your supervisor. A test of the procedure will occur during the first week of day camp.
