Are you a fan of great views of lakes in Michigan? Do you like climbing lots of stairs to get your workout in? Then this day is for you! We will highlight some of Michigan’s best-known lighthouses as well as some new ones for you to explore! With a few weeks until school starts, there is still time to squeeze in another fun adventure, and maybe you’ll find inspiration today!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 11 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. Petoskey Stone: Then and Now
How did the Petoskey stone get its name? Is it a rock, or a fossil, or both? What makes up the distinct pattern of the Petoskey stone? All these questions and more can be answered when you join us to learn about and celebrate Michigan's state stone!

Did you know Michigan has over 4,000 miles of Great Lakes shoreline and over 11,000 inland lakes? With those kind of numbers, you are never far from a sandy beach in Michigan. Join us to learn about some of the best beaches around the state and what makes Michigan’s sand dunes a unique phenomenon.
