World Nature Conservation Day recognizes that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and productive society. To ensure the well-being of present and future generations, we all must participate to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our natural resources. Join us at the OAC to learn about some of our conservation success stories here in Michigan.

Have you ever thought about what you can do to help protect our local environment? Learning about the invasive species that threaten our natural areas is a great place to start. Stop by the OAC today to find out who these invaders are and what you can do to prevent their spread though hands-on displays, activities, and games. Michigan's Invasive Species Program is cooperatively implemented by the Michigan Departments of Agriculture & Rural Development, Environmental Quality and Natural Resources.

We all have a group of people that we would consider our friends. But as the slogan goes, “make new friends, but keep the old”...so come out to the OAC today to make new friends...of the animal kind. We will introduce you to some taxidermy animals that you can find in your backyard and how to be better “friends” with them.
