Did you know that Michigan has only one species of bear? Stop by our table to learn about the black bear! We will have information and crafts to help better understand these large animals.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. National Bald Eagle Day
Revel in the greatness of our official national bird, the American bald eagle. This day is set aside each year to honor our national symbol and to raise awareness for protecting the bald eagle. Join us in learning the conservation story of the eagle and creating a unique eagle-themed craft.

THURSDAY, JUNE 28 10:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. Paul Bunyan Day
Let’s celebrate Paul Bunyan Day in a GIANT way. Described as a giant and a lumberjack of unusual skill, Paul Bunyan is one of the most famous North American folklore heroes. In the tales, Paul Bunyan was almost always accompanied by his companion, Babe the Blue Ox. Create a craft and read some tales about Paul Bunyan and his best friend Babe.

Explore the natural beauty within the neighbors to our north.... Canada! Dive into a Canadian experience as well as examine some of Canada’s most notable national parks such as Banff, Point Pelee, Algonquin, and many more! Drop by our discovery table on the exhibit floor to learn more about how you can go and visit some of Canada's hidden natural wonders.
